Violet's Story, made by students at Mount Erin College, is a short film from Australia (2022) that looks at themes of anxiety, bullying, group dynamics and teenage mental health in a school context. With a sensitive touch, the film speaks to the pressures young people can face and the ways those pressures affect wellbeing. Presented in the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival, Violet's Story sits alongside works that highlight the abilities, experiences and achievements of people with disability. It will resonate with audiences who care about youth mental health and inclusive storytelling, and invites discussion about support, resilience and community.
