Jack's Film (NBSC Cromer Campus, Australia, 2022) is a short film featured in the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival. Made by a school group, it reflects on themes such as autism, blindness and cognitive processing disability through a creative, youth-led lens. The work speaks to sensory difference and school life without assuming a single story. It offers audiences a chance to see young people experimenting with form and voice, and to appreciate the abilities and perspectives on show. Presented alongside other films that celebrate achievement and everyday experience, Jack's Film adds a fresh, honest voice from the classroom.
♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ So Jack's play is a royal guard type thing with an evil witch and my role is an escapee in a prison type thing and I try to get the escape but I die in the scene so yeah. A guard. What do you do as the guard? Just stand there and watch. Guard! Yeah? Make sure my scheme goes perfect. Yes sir. And you! Make sure no intruder's breaking in. I'll try to find a way for us to get out. Alright. We've got to find a way out to escape. Yes indeed. That's it! Your time is up! Ahhhh! I know, the school is under attack, we have to fight back. Oh right, Christos, let's go Hunter. Soon we'll know who's doing this. Hmm. Just relaxing. Finding out what's next in my lifetime. All about maths. I like the Roman numerals. And doing prodigy. Sadly I can't do prodigy because something happened to it in my program. I collected the five crystals but for some odd reason it took me all the way back to the beginning of the game. And I don't know why. Oh well, I was thinking in my head that making up my own film would be a bit fun for once. Because I haven't done a film in a while. Because the last film I did was back in 2017 in year 5, during term 4, my last term. We were doing the Mad Showcase and I was on stage. I was singing with the brooms. I had Max Donaghey with me. And in the row I just ran doing this. And everyone just cheered for the audience and me. And I was really happy to see how it was going out. Like happy as... And at the end of the Mad Showcase we did... Well, one, getting the most limited edition toys I can imagine. Finding out... Getting... Having a good family. Having the good raising of my family. And that's it. I do. I have thousands and thousands. Well, not thousands and thousands. I'll do my top 11. Alright, let's begin. Bert! Bert! Don't! Bert, what are you doing? Homie, why are you doing this? I mean... My name is Clayton Brown. My name is Clayton Brown. All I can do... I kill them. I kill them all. That's comic. My fifth one is... This is a super weapon. Step one. Step two. We need to break into the super weapon. That's right from Angry Birds Movie 2. The first one. I think that's it for that part.
