About this Short Film
Unbounded (Alexey Zbarsky, Russian Federation, 2020) looks at movement, work and resilience through a set of intimate moments. The film highlights themes such as accident, paralysis and physical disability alongside the practices of dance and choreography and questions around employment and independence. It does not settle for easy answers, instead offering a close, human portrait that asks us to reconsider assumptions about ability. Presented as part of the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival, Unbounded sits among films that celebrate talent, challenge barriers and invite audiences to see disability as one part of a rich, complex life.
