About this Short Film
We are pleased to present The C.A.S.S Bunch, a short film by Central Auckland Specialist School (New Zealand, 2019). The film offers a warm, candid look at daily life and activities in a specialist school. It features students who use wheelchairs and young people with cerebral palsy, intellectual disability and cognitive processing differences. Shot with care, the film highlights friendships, community and the practical ways students learn and take part. It is an honest, uplifting contribution to the Focus on Ability festival, celebrating the abilities, experiences and achievements of young people with disability while inviting audiences to see school life from a different perspective.
