About this Short Film
Options Theatre Company’s Remote (Australia, 2022) uses movement, song and group performance to explore perception, isolation and viewpoint for young adults with cognitive processing, congenital and intellectual disabilities. Rather than telling a single narrative, the film presents moments of dance and music that invite viewers to consider how people experience and make sense of the world. Its ensemble approach highlights communal rhythms and individual perspectives, sometimes fragile, sometimes bold. Presented in the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival, Remote complements the program by showcasing creative practice led by and with people with disability. It is a thoughtful, sensory piece that asks us to listen closely and see differently.
