About this Short Film
Director Teflon's The Under-Looked (Uganda, 2020) sits in our Focus on Ability programme. The film resists easy description, but its themes are clear: physical disability and mobility, stigma and stereotyping, bullying and discrimination, mental health and questions of perception. It also raises issues around sexuality and group dynamics without reducing them to labels. Rather than mapping a single message, the work invites audiences to notice what is often missed and to reflect on how point of view shapes who is seen. Screened alongside other shorts that highlight ability and resilience, The Under-Looked opens space for conversation and renewed attention.
