I really do enjoy working because I love meeting new people and I love making stuff as well, so I really do like working. Hello I'm Melissa, I was in the CAFE program and now I have a job in the CAFE. The CAFE program is an experience to let us learn how to be kind of job ready and understand how to work in a kitchen and experience teamwork as well. I've learnt communication, I've learnt point of sale which is really fun speaking to people, I've learnt these amazing recipes. The CAFE 10 program helped me to find work because I put it on my resume that I worked in the program and I think that might be one of the reasons why my little CAFE hired me in the first place because I had a little bit of experience on my side. The goal for the end of this CAFE thing is for me to be able to find work experience, to find work. So I am applying for a couple of jobs, hopefully I get the job, don't know yet, haven't got a call back about it. This CAFE program did help me with my job personally because it gave me a lot of those experiences and skills that I need to be better for my future. I like the CAFE program because it helps you to learn how to, when you finish school, if you find a job at like a CAFE and stuff, it can help you know how to follow the recipes and it helps you to learn how much money people need to give you and stuff and it gives them change back. I would recommend this CAFE program to everyone if I could because it's such a great opportunity to get kids in the kitchen to learn a little bit of maths and it lets you experience knowing what it's like to be in that job ready mindset and yeah it's just really fun. I love working in my CAFE, which is weird because when I first went to the CAFE I was really nervous because I wasn't sure if it would be a lot like the program or it would be completely different. I wasn't really knowing what I was expecting but when I was there they helped me slowly go through with it because it was more focused on drinks instead of making kitchens back of house and I really do think the skills that I learnt from the CAFE program really helped me feel a lot more confident in an actual job position, which was really great. I can proudly say that I've earned money and I learnt everything I personally could and I've put that to my education and my work and I've tried my hardest and I've earned it.
