About this Short Film
The Wizard of Aus, made by Singleton High School, joins our festival as a thoughtful student-made short exploring perception, anxiety and the everyday realities faced by young people with disability. The film highlights themes including autism, cognitive processing and intellectual and physical disability, alongside kindness, inclusion and mental health in a school setting. It invites viewers to consider how viewpoint and perception shape interactions between teenagers and their peers. Quiet and observant, this short is a strong example of how young filmmakers can open up conversations about ability and belonging. A welcome addition to Focus on Ability.
