Film Transcript

Alright class, open your books to page 20, and start reading! What can I do for you, Jacob? I can't read the book properly. I'm so sorry, there's nothing I can do. I have a vision impairment. What? So how's your morning, Mr. Johnson? Well, apparently Jacob has a vision impairment, and he can't read his book because the print's too small. I have just the solution for you, Ms. Johnson. Did you know there's a treaty called the Marrakesh Treaty? The Marrakesh Treaty allows people who are vision impaired or blind to access books in an accessible format. Really? It allows vision impaired people to access published copyright materials in ways such as braille, audio, or large prints. That's fantastic! Put simply, it means you can access books in a different way without getting into trouble by breaking any copyright laws. That's amazing, Principal Cho. The treaty began in Marrakesh, which is a city in Morocco, located in North Africa, in 2013. That actually where it is? Our country, Australia, was one of the first 20 countries to sign up to the Marrakesh Treaty. Oh, that's so cool! This means we should all be entitled to access books the way we need to. It really does. Special delivery from Jacob. Thank you. The Vision Support Team is always here to help. Is there anything else we can help with? Thank you. You have made my life better.
