About this Short Film
We are pleased to present The Life of Lyle (Emerson School, Australia, 2021). This short film reflects on themes around autism and cognitive processing disability, and explores ideas of inclusion, youth and group creativity. Made by a school community, it brings a fresh perspective on teenagers collaborating in filmmaking. Rather than prescribing a single reading, the piece invites viewers to notice the everyday strengths and challenges that inform how young people communicate and work together. As part of our Focus on Ability programme, The Life of Lyle contributes to a wider conversation about access, representation and the value of creative opportunities for people with disability.
