About this Short Film
Yes We Can (2024) by Charles Moses Mpheula, Malawi We are pleased to present Yes We Can, a short film that uses a church setting and group interactions to explore perception, viewpoint and sensory disability. Through moments of shared communication and the use of sign language, the film invites audiences to consider how people experience the same space in different ways. It is a quiet, observant piece that highlights communication, community and the many ways abilities are expressed. Shown as part of the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival, Yes We Can adds a thoughtful Malawian voice to our programme celebrating the experiences and achievements of people with disability.
