About this Short Film
Dropkicks, from Eastern Hills Senior High School (Australia, 2025), explores how perception and viewpoint shape life at school. The short film looks at themes such as disgraphia, intellectual and physical disability, prejudice, stereotypes and stigma, and how group dynamics influence who is seen and who is overlooked. Created by young filmmakers, it offers a human, curious take on the teenage experience without simplifying complex issues. Presented in the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival, Dropkicks sits alongside films that celebrate the abilities, experiences and achievements of people with disability, and invites audiences to rethink assumptions about difference and belonging.
