About this Short Film
Before The Day, directed by Tefera Tsega (Ethiopia, 2023), is a short film presented in the Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival. It looks at motivation, personal goals and the daily realities of a young adult living with a physical disability. Through intimate moments of training and mobility the film reflects on individual drive and the small decisions that shape aspiration. Quiet, determined and humane, its images invite viewers to consider ability beyond expectation. A subtle contribution to the festival, it complements our programme by highlighting resilience, the role of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, and the pursuit of personal aims.
