About this Short Film
I Wish (Sota Film Production, Uganda, 2025) is part of our Focus on Ability International Short Film Festival programme. From Uganda, the film foregrounds themes of blindness, sensory disability, employment and creative writing among young adults, and considers how group relationships shape everyday life. It does not rely on spectacle but offers a quiet, thoughtful contribution to conversations about access, opportunity and creative expression. As a festival organiser, I see I Wish as a valuable addition to the programme, bringing a distinct perspective and prompting reflection on the skills, hopes and practical challenges faced by people with disability.
