I don't think I'm going to forget it ever. I was finally getting confident enough. I had my licence for three months. Three months. So, marriages crash in less than three months. You should be proud.
I thought getting my licence meant freedom, moving out, being an adult. Now I'm back to my mum taking care of me 24/7.
You could always move in with me. You've been trying to get me to move in with you since college because I enjoy your company and you can reach the upper cabinets in the kitchen. Do you realise how much unused kitchen real estate I have in my apartment? What a pair we'd make: one who can drive and one who can't. Very funny.
All my life, I've either been labelled as too disabled or not disabled enough. Do you know what I keep replaying in my head since the accident? The first day of driving school. "Are you sure this is safe?" "Excuse me, is it safe for her to get behind the wheel?" Are you serious, man? Maybe you should consider a different career path, huh? I'm an adult. I can tell for myself. Of course. Yeah. Guy was obviously unqualified.
You need to put this accident behind you and move on. I know, but I keep thinking about the woman in the accident. The one who walked away without a scratch. Yeah, I probably ruined her day. Her car. The only thing you ruined was her sandwich. The real crime was eating while driving. I still want to apologise. She lives around the corner. My mum apparently knows her. Okay, if it'll get you out of pause mode, let's go apologise to the sandwich lady.
This is stupid. Is this stupid? Yeah, this is stupid, but we're here now.
Oh my gosh. I had no idea it was that serious. I mean, I didn't know I did all that. No, no, no, no. The doctors said I may never walk again. Oh my gosh, that's terrible. I've been training so hard for the Olympics this year. I'm so sorry. What sport? Jump rope. Don't listen to her. She's always used a wheelchair. I was the one in the accident. Oh, okay. Well, glad we got that cleared out of the way.
I only thought that because they said that the girl in the accident was disabled, but you look fine to me. You girls want to come inside? No, I just wanted to come and apologise and make sure you're okay. Accidents happen. I thought everything would change when I got my licence. Everything does change, just rarely how we plan it. I still want to move out. Has anyone been able to stop you from doing what you wanted to, like ever? Unpause. Yes. Unpause.
