About this Short Film

Titled Tim and made by Maidstone Intermediate School in New Zealand (2018), this short film brings a student-made perspective to themes of childhood, friends, group life and the move toward adolescence. It invites viewers to notice the everyday moments that shape life at school and the ways young people relate to one another. Screened as part of the Focus on Ability festival, Tim contributes a youthful voice to a programme that celebrates the abilities, experiences and achievements of people with disability. Warm and observant, the film offers a fresh viewpoint on inclusion, belonging and the small interactions that matter in school communities.
