Films are in

We have around about 180 films contesting this years competition – we won’t know the exact number because of the vagaries of Australia Post and our decision to allow entries posted on the last day to count.

That’s more than double last years entries and, with the International films pushes us past the 200 entries and the standard is absolutely terrific – I have watched some highly entraining films – big fights, childbirth, drugs, prostitution, a terrific truck – what more could a man want?

We MAY have some time issues getting so many films loaded for tomorrow – Ryan’s given up his weekend and has promised to pass on sleep and even so we have about 17hrs worth of films to post.

Our very good friends at SONY (SONY – the one and only! – if you are thinking of buying anything and SONY make that product why not do yourself a favour and get a brand you can trust) have let us have some terrific camcorders and we are going to use these as additional prizes for some lucky entrants – haven’t decided the criteria yet, may just be ‘cos we like you, but we will probably link to votes or voters.

Speaking of which, while the International entrant major prizes have been decided (to be announced September 4th) the most online votes hasn’t been and we are going to let that run until we finish up voting for all films on August 17th.

FYI – if you have a look at the films and comments don’t be misled into thinking that a lot of comments equals a lot of votes – presently the leading film for votes most certainly isn’t the leading film for comments – to vote you need to click the ‘Vote Now’ tab to the bottom left of film.

Welcome to this years Focusonability Film Competition where you can be inspired, educated and entertained by some fabulous films. Voting started today and we already have many hundreds of voters keen to see their choice recognised on the 15th of August (Fox Studios Sydney - call Amie Ross on 0298332500 to get yourself a seat).
A quick review of our viewers and voters show most folk coming from Australia (obviously) then the United States and then in 3rd place the Philippines. Head to your social media sites and get your friends - here and overseas - involved. Already we have interest from 85 different countries and we are keen to see last years total surpassed. Every vote counts (Please note: our system only allows 1 vote per email address).
A quick reminder that leaving a comment is appreciated and encourages our film makers and comments are not counted as votes - you need to do both! We already have films with some encouraging comments but (as yet) no votes.
